Sandy Jay
Flew to the Tableland from southern city
Was a clear day
The Gypsy Moth
Carved through the desert sky

No maps to navigate by
Only the telephone lines

Sandy Jay
Young family awaits her
With their newborn child
By the gate
Took off her helmet
They could not believe their eyes

Slight of frame, barely 24
Long hair flowing to her uniform
They'd never seen the likes of her before

Sandy Jay
Bright lorikeets gather in her garden
Drift away
Asleep in her armchair
The past a distant dream

Young pilots, too young for the war
Men of fortune and flaws
Did you ever think you'd outlive them all?

The new single, 'Temperament' is a taste of the future direction of AMCS. ... more
